Paramedics called to the guitarist's home in Las Vegas ran tests on him and determined he may have suffered a minor heart attack.

The 89 year old was taken to a nearby hospital for health checks and released late on Thursday evening.

The health scare ended a troubling month for King and his fans - he checked into a Las Vegas hospital for several days in early April (15).

Meanwhile, a row is brewing between Patty King, who lives with her ailing father, and the blues great's longtime manager Laverne Toney, who has power of attorney over the musician.

Patty filed a police report on Thursday (30Apr15) after Toney refused to let her call paramedics to check on her dad when she noticed he was ill. She took a photo of her dad in the hospital and hopes the image will convince authorities something needs to be done to protect him, according to TMZ.com.

Patty and her husband filed a police report in November (14), claiming elder abuse and burglary. They accused Toney and her assistant of taking millions from her dad and withholding his medications while on tour.

Police investigated the claims but no charges were filed.

After Thursday's drama, Patty tells the website she's weighing up her options and is keen to wrestle power of attorney away from Toney.
