Rapper in foul-mouthed tirade against British music stars
Fire up the your barbies, mates, we’ve got some potentially succulent beef brewing! There’s a familiar name at the center of it all but she’s attacking a target who you might not expect. Yep, after Azealia Banks warred with Angel Haze and Baauer, she’s not turned her ire to Britain, Rita Ora and the Stone Roses.
Azealia Banks is not happy with the Stone Roses or Rita Ora
Banks issue with the greying Manchester rock stars stems from an incident at Sydney’s Randwick racecourse, where both were performing at the Future Music festival. With Banks on stage, crew-members apparently started sound checking for the Stone Roses set, disrupting the rapper’s songs. She wasn’t happy with this, as you might imagine, and wrote on Twitter that her former tour manager had "made a pact with the stone roses [to] sabotage my set because I fired him". Not sure about that one Azealia.
She thundered on regardless. "Wow! I must really f*cking be a superstar," she tweeted after the gig. "You've got an established band trying to sabotage my lil rap bitch shine … A bunch of old white men trying to bully a young black girl … F*ck those old saggy white n*ggas stone roses. I wish them nothing but excrement and death." Continuing her rage against the ageing baggy stars, she wrote "He charged at me," in a claim that ‘Roses lead singer Ian Brown had attacked her back stage. "We LEGIT almost got into a fist fight. I'm more rock and roll than he is. I would've won. It was a pretty classic moment though. Legendary if you ask me. I was a little turned on. Just a little. Not a lot."
Rita Ora and the Stone Roses were both performing at Sydney's Future Music festival
So what did Rita Ora – also performing that weekend - do? Take pictures of Banks’ backing dancers apparently. "She's been TRYING IT on this tour man. Ever since I arrived on this tour Rita's been going out of her way to try and intimidate me," Banks tweeted. "Taking all these candids of me when I wasn't looking, then posting and deleting them like a weak b*tch." Oof.
