Avril Lavigne feels ''a bit lost'' amid rumours her marriage to Chad Kroeger is on the rocks.
The 'Here's to Never Growing Up' singer, who recently celebrated her 30th birthday without her husband, reportedly thinks her ''life is in limbo,'' but her friends are encouraging her to try to work things out with the Nickelback frontman, who she married in July 2013.
A source close to the Canadian star, who was previously married to Deryck Whibley, told E! News: ''Things still aren't good. But Avril's friends are encouraging her to try and work it out. They don't like Chad, but she's already been through one painful divorce and they don't want to see her going through another unless there's no other option. Also, she and Chad haven't been married that long so her friends want her to make sure she's given it every chance before pulling the plug.''
The insider added: ''[She's] a bit lost right now. Her career isn't in the best place and she's trying to figure out what she wants for her future. She's trying to write music and she paints, but her life is in limbo.''
Chad, 39, was photographed without his wedding ring during a night out at Hollywood hotspot Bar Marmont this week, but Avril, who has been ''fighting a lot'' with him in recent months, isn't ready to file for divorce, as she is desperate to have children.
The source said: ''Motherhood is something she really wants for herself. So this thing with Chad, it's going to go one of two ways. Either they're going to get rid of each other or there's a shot they might try to have a baby to save the marriage. My bet is they end up splitting.''
