30 years have passed by since Arnold Schwarzenegger graced the screen as Conan in the two films of the 80's - Conan the Barbarian and Conan The Destroyer - and still the former 'governator' is readying himself in don the pants and cape combo for one more time in the just announced Legend of Conan.

The project was announced by Deadline.com on Thursday (Oct 25), who reported that Universal Pictures had just signed a deal to make the project happen and frankly we could be more excited. Here are five reasons why the new Conan film could very well prove to be a hit:

1. The first film was great!

Ok, not Citizen Kane good obviously, but as good as a ridiculous cheese-fest can be. Finally having Arnie back means with have an action star who can take on this level of ridiculousness and still come across as an absolute boss. I know it's premature to say that Schwarzenegger will get back on top form after his long absence from the screen without seeing any real evidence of him in a staring role yet, but come on, it's Arnie!

2. The sequel will miss out all the junk in-between.

The new film is said to be a direct sequel of the 1982 film that launched Schwarzenegger and to completely neglect the 1983 sequel and 2011's Conan the Barbarian staring Game of Throne star Jason Monoa as the titular warrior. That means there's a good chance that upcoming film will have a whole back-story to build the aged warrior up on, with the potential for any situation to have unfolded after the first film. That might be worth the film itself though!

3. Room for more Arinie-isms.

Cinema really has been missing its go-to one liner guy, and now he's back an we can get our doses of such insights as:

"If you drop your gun now, I promise I won't kill you."

(After drowning a baddie's in a urinal) "Cool off."

And of course, "You're a funny guy Sully, I like you. That's why I'm going to kill you last."

Lets hope Conan, and his other upcoming films will deliver the goods.

4. Arnie is psyched for the film.

Deadline also reported that Schwarzenegger is looking forward to the project, and with your star on board and fully co-operating then things can only move all the easier. The actor said, "I always loved the Conan character and I'm honoured to be asked to step into the role once again," as well as also mentioning his excitement towards the development of "this truly epic story."

So there you have it: 4 reasons why the new Conan won't suck! Now we just have to wait.
