'Problem' singer and former 'Victorious' star Ariana Grande has blasted comparisons to Miley Cyrus, insisting she is nothing like the 'Hannah Montana' actress-turned-pop star.
Ariana Grande says she is nothing like Miley Cyrus.
The two girls followed a similar path - the 'Problem' singer starting on Nickelodeon show 'Victorious' while the 'Wrecking Ball' hitmaker starred in 'Hannah Montana' before turning to music - but the former has insisted the ''comparisons'' should end there.
She told the Daily Star newspaper: ''There are so many comparisons for girls in this industry it's annoying.
''I'm not thinking: 'Miley Cyrus is doing this so I ought to do this too.'
''We are all trying to do our own things and be successful in our own right.''
However Ariana, 21, is still keen to shed her baby image and ''showcase'' her maturity and growth in a live environment, while she also admitted fame meant she was more restricted than she was in the past.
She added: ''I'm always excited by people evolving, changing and growing up.
''I just get to showcase it on stage ... In the past month things have changed drastically in my life. I can't go out with a little bun on my head and no make-up any more.''
