Ariana Grande has apologised for a second time for her recent remarks about America. Grande was caught on camera on Saturday (4th July) and overheard saying ‘I hate America’ and ‘I hate Americans’ whilst purchasing donuts at Wolfee’s Donuts in Lake Elsinore, California. Grande has apologised once before in a statement on Twitter posted earlier this week but shared a second lengthy public apology on a video posted on Thursday (9th July).

The ‘Problems’ singer posted an apology on Twitter in which she claimed her comments were taken out of context and that her real gripe with Americans and American culture was the lack of interest in healthy eating.

In her written apology, Grande stated she was “extremely proud to be an American”. Further explaining her position: "As an advocate for healthy eating, food is very important to me and I sometimes get upset by how freely we as Americans eat and consume things without giving any thought to the consequences that it has on our health and society as a whole."

Grande’s second apology, in video form, was posted on YouTube and has already been viewed more than 1.3 million times. In the video, she apologises again for the ‘donut fiasco’. She further explains how she focussed too much on her own obsession with healthy eating in her first apology and that is was not really relevant in a discussion centred on her anti-America comments. She continued by using her youth as something of an excuse for her behaviour but promised to learn from her mistakes.

"I've actually never been prouder to be an American," the singer stated in the video.

"I'm 22 years old, I'm human, I've still got a lot to learn, I make mistakes, and that's how I'm going to learn," Grande added.

Whilst Grande’s fans will welcome the apology, the owner of the donut shop she was spotted in is still reportedly furious at the singer for her actions. In the same video, Grande was spotted licking donuts which were left exposed on a counter. The donuts were then allegedly sold to other customers without the shop assistant knowing they had been tampered with.

The shop owner reported Grande’s actions to the police but they did not press any charges as no crime appeared to have been committed. Unfortunately for the shop, health officials began investigating and have downgraded its rating from an A to a B, as the NY Daily News reports.

Grande has yet to apologise for seemingly tampering with the donuts.
