Anne Hathaway had an "intellectual orgy" with Jake Gyllenhaal.

The 28-year-old beauty - who stars alongside Jake in romance movie 'Love & Other Drugs' - had long discussions with the Oscar-nominated star about what turned them both on so they were not scared to explore intimacy with each other in the Ed Zwick-directed movie.

She said: "We talked about our own experiences with love and intimacy, about what turned us on and what didn't.

"So it was completely open from the get-go. Jake described it as a kind of intellectual orgy and I think that sums it up best!"

Despite their openness and the film's multiple nude scenes, Anne doesn't believe it is a movie those too young to have experienced love would understand.

She said: "This is a sophisticated look at adult love. It isn't a movie for teenagers. I don't think they would understand it."

However, the brunette beauty is "proud" of her previous work in family-friendly classic 'The Princess Diaries' with Julie Andrews.

She told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "It's not the case of once a princess, always a princess. I'm not the girl who was in 'The Princess Diaries' anymore, but I'm proud to have once been a part of something that is becoming a classic film for children."
