The actress admires Angelina for turning her 'pain into power'.
Things haven't been easy for Hollywood's most iconic couple of this generation, but Angelina Jolie has won the support of 'Suicide Squad' star Cara Delevingne who named her as one of her Girl Heroes for both her activism and her handling of her divorce situation with Brad Pitt.
Angelina Jolie gets support from Cara Delevingne
The 24-year-old model-turned-actress took to Instagram with a photo of the 'Maleficent' star, explaining to her followers how she admires her for transforming 'pain into power', and for her work with refugees as a UN Goodwill Ambassador.
'My admiration for Angelina Jolie is endless, I also admire anyone who transforms their pain into power', she captioned her post. 'I admire unruly activists. I admire her continued involvement with the UN as a goodwill ambassador. She is ruthless, determined and unforgiving in her efforts to make a difference for Refugees. She also inspired me to follow my dreams into acting and have higher goals of one day becoming a director.'
Cara named Angelina alongside the likes of feminist icon Gloria Steinem and relationships psychotherapist Esther Perel as her Girl Heroes, as part of the Girl Up campaign for the United Nations Foundation which is also being championed by Priyanka Chopra, Victoria Justice and Katherine McNamara. Foundered in 2010, the campaign aims to make a difference in the lives of adolescent girls all around the world, be they refugees or from impoverished nations. The campaign is raising awareness on social media by encouraging supporters to share their own Girl Heroes online.
