Following Amy Winehouse's coroner's report being deemed as possibly illegal yesterday, her family are now plotting their next move in an unwelcome new twist to a saga they thought they had all but closure on.
Yesterday on February 1st the UK's Sun newspaper reported that the assistant deputy coroner in the investigation, SUZANNE GREENAWAY, had been appointed to the role by her husband, resigning in November after it was alleged that she didn't meet the rules that governed the appointment of her role. By then she'd already passed a judgement of misadventure on the case of Winehouse, alleging that there were no illegal drugs in her system when she passed away last summer in her London home - something that came as great vindication to the tragic singer's father Mitch Winehouse who'd consistently claimed that his daughter had been clean of drugs in 2011.
Now however they may have to go through the whole scenario again and, in a statement that the UK's Independent newspaper reported, said "The Winehouse family is taking advice on the implications of this and will decide if any further discussion with the authorities is needed." In addition to be being appointed to the role by her spouse DR ANDREW SCOTT REID, Greenaway failed to meet the terms required to become a UK coroner on two counts; firstly she'd only joined the Law Society two-and-a-half years ago with the rules stating she had to have been a recognised solicitor under them for five, and secondly she'd only qualified as a medical practitioner in her native Australia when she was required to have done so in the UK. Her husband, Dr Reid, is now also being probed for his part in the situation.
