Amy Adams has got married.

The 'Big Eyes' actress and artist Darren LeGallo - who have four-year-old daughter Ariana together - tied the knot in an intimate ceremony in California on Saturday (02.05.15), with just a small number of guests in attendance.

The couple have been together for 14 years and got engaged in 2008, but the 40-year-old actress' recent career success means they found it tricky to set a wedding date until she had a break in her schedule.

A source said last week: ''Amy and Darren had always planned on getting married, but her career has been on such an amazing trajectory, it has been hard for her to take the time out. But now she has deliberately taken some time off work to be with her family and finally get married.''

The 'American Hustle' star has previously admitted her work schedule has kept their wedding plans on hold.

Speaking in 2013, she said: ''I'm not getting married anytime soon.

''I know he's completely capable and lovely, and beautiful, and offers something I could never hope to offer just in the nature of his being.

''We both have a very specific idea that we want to do this [the ceremony] in spring or fall, like in those months, but every time I'm busy working.

''I want something very family-oriented and laid-back.''
