Alec Baldwin Stalker Ordered To Jail After Courtroom Heckling

Alec Baldwin has been in court lately defending himself from the claims of a Canadian woman accused of stalking the actor. Genevieve Sabourin, 41, alleges that she and Baldwin had a relationship but their romance fell apart, according to CNN. She is charged with stalking Baldwin and his wife Hilaria which consisted of leaving up to 30 voicemail messages per night, crashing events, turning up at their apartment and sending a string of tweets and emails.

Alec & Hilaria Baldwin Claim That Sabourin Has Stalked Them.

Sabourin denies that she is guilty of stalking and rather sought to resolve her feelings towards Alec. However, she repeatedly ignored a judge's warning in court that she was not to interrupt a witness's testimony when a tearful Baldwin denied any romance. Sabourin, an aspiring actress, shouted "you're lying!"

Later, when Baldwin denied any form of sexual relationship, she yelled "You have a scar!" leading Judge Robert Mandelbaum to scold: "Don't testify from your seat at the defence table while the witness is on the stand." After a further interruption, Sabourin was taken out of the courtroom by her lawyer but both soon returned to their seats.

Genevieve Sabourin Has Openly Talked To Reporters About Her Alleged Relationship With Baldwin.

Baldwin, 55, claims that the pair met through a mutual friend in 2000 whilst he was filming in Montreal and she was working as a publicist. He told how, ten years later, he was asked to give her some acting advice as she'd decided to pursue a career as an actress. The pair met for dinner in 2010 and although Baldwin claims that it consisted of an hour-long chat, Sabourin alleges that it was a romantic meet-up that culminated in a sexual tryst.

Baldwin admits that the pair communicated after the meal but states that it was only to offer advice about acting classes despite Sabourin's texts becoming more and more focussed towards professing her love for him. Alec told how Genevieve turned up at his New York apartment shortly after he and Hilaria had become engaged in March 2012.

Baldwin Has Denied Claims Of Any Sexual Or Romantic Involvement With Sabourin.

Though she wasn't allowed access past the doorman, she called Hilaria "a bitch and a prostitute." "That's when I knew she was dangerous," said Baldwin, via BBC News. Sabourin then appeared in the front row at a movie screening in what Baldwin has described as "nightmarish [...] like something out of Hitchcock."

Though he said that he told her to stay away, she began to send a deluge of emails and voicemails such as "I am less than 10 minutes away from you tonight. Say 'I do' to me," and "I need to start my new life with my new name ... in my new country, help my newly husband, you!" which turned threatening when she claimed she was going to start a "massive destructive war" against him.

The Court Heard How Sabourin Targeted Hilaria Even Whilst She Was Pregnant.

The court also heard how Sabourin relentlessly harassed Hilaria on Twitter, even during her pregnancy which caused a great deal of distress: "It feels like there's nothing we can do to make this stop. I am terrified of her," she said.

Sabourin Has Been Jailed For 30 Days For Interrupting In Court.

Though Baldwin has not publically commented on the proceedings, Sabourin has been outspoken in her discourse with reporters, saying "I'm not gonna take a reduced plea for a crime I have not committed." She has previously been arrested several times for her pursuit of the actor, including violation of her court order via tweeting for which she was temporarily jailed. Her outbursts on Wednesday drew a contempt order and a 30-day jail sentence.

If Sabourin is found guilty of stalking, she faces up to a year in prison.
