Adele has responded to criticism of her performance at last night’s Grammy awards (February 15th), which was plagued by technical issues. Viewers had taken to twitter to complain about the sound during her rendition of ‘All I Ask’, but Adele wasn’t the only performer to suffer from technical issues on the big night.

Dressed in a red floor length gown, Adele was accompanied by a piano, but from the beginning there seemed to issues with the sound. The singer also appeared to be distracted by her onstage monitor during the performance.

On twitter one viewer wrote: ‘This sound is terrible...... never has ADELE sounded like this. There's an echo.’ Another added: ‘WHY ARE THEY RUINING ADELE??? The sound and lighting are AWFUL #GRAMMYs #Grammys2016’.

But after the ceremony Adele set the record straight on twitter telling fans: ‘The piano mics fell onto the piano strings, that's what the guitar sound was. It made it sound out of tune. S*** happens. Because of it though... I'm treating myself to an in n out. So maybe it was worth it.’

A spokesperson for network CBS also confirmed the performance had suffered from sound issues saying: ‘There was a brief 5-8 second technical issue that was out of our control.’ But Adele wasn't the only performer to suffer from technical issues during the live ceremony.

Justin Bieber also suffered minor technical issues during his performance of ‘Love Yourself’ and ‘Where Are You Now’. As Bieber transitioned from the opening acoustic number, the sound appeared to briefly drop out, before his vocals could be heard again.
