Adam Levine is proud to be releasing a perfume despite previously criticising celebrity scents because he is adamant his fragrance will be "done properly".
Christina Aguilera mocked the Maroon 5 frontman after he recently announced plans to launch two perfumes because just a year ago, he had blasted stars like her for entering the fragrance industry.
Levine has now assured fans his latest business venture - a scent called 222 with a male and female version - will be completely unlike any other stars' perfumes.
He tells People.com, "I know there's a stigma attached to it, a stigma that I fully understand because I, too, hate the idea of a celebrity fragrance, absolutely, 100 per cent. (But) I kind of thought to myself, 'Well, I'm interested in fashion and there's a lot of things about it that could be really cool if done properly.' So I want to do a thing that's never done properly. That's my goal... It's going to be cool."
Levine also admits he has no hard feelings towards his The Voice co-star Aguilera, insisting her remarks were "funny and silly and friendly". He adds, "I didn't actually see that... I heard about it. We were just messing around."
