Chiefs at Starz and AT&T U-verse, a cable operator in the U.S., have been in contract negotiations which could ultimately pull Starz out of half a million homes using AT&T U-verse.

Fans of Power who subscribe to AT&T U-verse would potentially miss out of new episodes of the series, which is in the middle of his second season, and 50 Cent, who co-stars and co-executive produces it, took to Instagram.com on Saturday (18Jul15), writing, "Man Im sorry I have to say this, but AT&T is racist they have had issues in the past and here we go again. 500,000 homes will not be able to view the next episode of POWER."

He later posted a screenshot from an Associated Press article from April (15), with a headline which reads, "AT&T fires president for sending racist texts and images" and added the caption, "When this was happening they were saying they had the STARZ and other networks that created programming targeting multiple ethnicity's now I guess (THERE NOT F**KING WITH N**GAS).SMH (shaking my head)...

"If your (sic) a fan of POWER and you have AT&T as a cable carrier, you will no longer see it. Switch to Anything but AT&T... It's 2015 and these people are still racist. They are dropping all channels that are considered urban friendly. This s**t is sad."

On Sunday (19Jul15), a spokesperson for AT&T brushed off the hip-hop star's comments in a statement to The Hollywood Reporter which reads: "Starz and their paid talent can spin up whatever they like, but the bottom line is we're NOT going to negotiate a deal that is bad for customers. In these negotiations, our customers are all that matter to us."

The representative also added that, "In 2015, for the seventh consecutive year, DiversityInc named AT&T one of the Top 50 Companies for Diversity, ranking us number seven."

Meanwhile, a representative for Starz said they are hopeful negotiations with AT&T bosses will work in their favour.
