50 Cent thinks Jay Z was right not to lash out at Solange Knowles when she attacked him in an elevator after the Met Ball.
50 Cent thinks Jay Z did the ''right thing'' during his confrontation with Solange Knowles.
The rapper was impressed his fellow hip-hop star managed to keep his cool and not lash out during the now-infamous showdown with his wife Beyoncé's younger sister in an elevator after the Met Gala in New York City last month.
The 'Candy Shop' hitmaker told E! News: ''He did the right thing. They'll make fun of it because it's an opportunity to make fun. At the end of the day, the nightmare would've been him responding in any other way.''
50 also recalled an encounter he had with Beyoncé at a New Year's Eve party in Las Vegas, admitting the 'Drunk in Love' singer was furious because she thought he had been rude to her husband.
He explained: ''I don't think she understands that our energy is...it's not negative. Wasn't nobody gonna do nothin' to Jay [on Beyoncé's watch].''
The incident has convinced him that Solange must have being acting in defence of her sister, because Beyoncé would have protected her husband otherwise.
50 explained: ''Like, [Beyoncé] got down off of the thing and jumped down and came over - and it didn't really match up with what was happening in the elevator. I think that was on her behalf that time.
''Because I saw that [in Vegas], I know that it'd be almost impossible for someone to do something to him and her not respond to it.''
The incident is rumoured to have occurred due to the 'Holy Grail' hitmaker apparently flirting with fashion designer Rachel Roy during the star-studded bash.
