Emily Eavis Says 'Leaked' Glastonbury 2017 Line-Up Is "Fake News"

Glastonbury Festival organiser Emily Eavis has denied that the ‘leaked’ line-up for the 2017 edition of the event is real, slamming it as “fake news” and assuring fans that the real line-up will be announced in the very near future.

Over the weekend, music fans saw a spreadsheet of the supposed finalised line-up and stage schedules of Glastonbury 2017 on the public-edited site Clashfinder. So far, the only confirmed performers have been two of the three headliners, Radiohead and Foo Fighters, but the purported line-up included the likes of Lorde, Haim, Royal Blood, Craig David, Stormzy and even the legendary Kraftwerk.

However, the festival’s organisers told BBC’s Newsbeat on Monday (March 6th): “The line-up posted on that fan site is definitely not accurate.”

Emily Eavis, who has organised the festival in place of her father Michael for several years now, then tweeted: “Don't believe everything you read, our line up has not been leaked. The actual line up will be with you soon! #fakenews”

Back in February, the NME reported that Glastonbury bosses were going to announce the full line-up for 2017 at some point in March, saying that bookings had been higher than ever before and that the site would include a new ‘drive-in cinema’ area.

Ed Sheeran is overwhelmingly the favourite to be announced as the Saturday night headliner, although the likes of Green Day and Daft Punk have also repeatedly been tipped for it.

However, a few of the acts named on the apparently erroneous Clashfinder timetable have subtly been linking themselves to the festival over the last few weeks.

New Zealand-born star Lorde, returning with her first album in four years later in 2017, told Radio 1 in a recent interview: “We're coming over there [the UK] much sooner than you think. Farms are cool, I'm a big fan of farms so who knows? I love a farm but that's all I'm saying.”
