Kanye West Will Debut Yeezy Season 5 At NYFW

Kanye West is set to debut his Yeezy Season 5 collection at New York Fashion Week later this month.

Last year the rapper’s Season 4 show on Roosevelt Island hit the headlines, after one attendee compared the experience to being “kidnapped”. But this time around Kanye has chosen a more accessible venue, the Pier 59 Studios at Chelsea Piers.

According to Vogue, the show will take place on February 15, at 5:00 p.m., a slot between Anna Sui and Thom Browne and go head-to-head with the Marchesa show.

The Chelsea Piers venue is described by the fashion bible as providing designers ‘a studio format they can rework into a presentation or a runway show’, making it more familiar to the fashion set and much less likely to cause problems than September’s Roosevelt Island location.

The news of the Yeezy Season 5 show came after Kanye’s wife Kim Kardashian revealed on Snapchat that she and her husband are designing a kids' clothing line.

A sneak peak of the couple’s daughter North West wearing an outfit designed by her parents was given on Kim’s Snapchat account, with the 36-year-old writing: "Kanye & my kids line coming soon! #SequinDress #ShearlingCoat."

Three-year-old North was shown wearing a yellow shearling jacket and a neon yellow sequinned dress. "Daddy and mommy are doing a kids' line and these are some of the pieces," Kim said in the video. ”Northie picked out the colours and the fabric."
