George Clooney Celebrates Two Year Wedding Anniversary With Amal: "And They Said It Wouldn't Last"
George Clooney is celebrating two years of wedded bliss with wife Amal Clooney.
The actor and the human rights lawyer made it to two years as a married couple last Tuesday, causing George to joke: "And they said it wouldn't last. We proved them wrong!”
George made the quip while speaking to Entertainment Tonight at the Motion Picture Television Fund's 'Night Under the Stars' benefit, held in Los Angeles on Sunday.
Revealing how the power-couple celebrated last week, George joked around again saying, "We mostly drank.” He then more seriously added: "I made dinner and we had a very romantic second anniversary. Very civilized.”
The Monuments Men star also praised his wife’s often dangerous work as a human rights lawyer, which includes her most recent case, representing ISIS rape survivor, Nadia Murad, and other victims of the 2014 Yezidi genocide.
"Of course I'm proud of her. Yeah, it comes with risk," he said, noting Amal's representation of Nadia. ”You spend an afternoon with that young woman [Nadia], there's no way you couldn't stand up for her. She's so brave.”

“She's the one who's the bravest because she's in the most dangerous [situation],” the actor added. “I think Amal's decision to [represent her] was, of course, heroic.”
