Kim Kardashian Didn't Actually See The Final Edit Of Kanye's 'Famous' Video

Having defended her husband’s hugely controversial new video for ‘Famous’, Kim Kardashian has revealed that she never actually saw the final edit of the clip before it was released last week.

When it dropped last Friday (June 24th) at its premiere at the Forum in Los Angeles, Kanye West’s new video, which features a number of uncannily lifelike nude waxworks of various male and female celebrities, triggered a firestorm of controversy, with many criticising it as misogynistic.

Mother of two Kim, 35, spoke at the party for her GQ magazine cover on Tuesday, and admitted to Women’s Wear Daily that she had deliberately kept herself in the dark over what the finished music video would look like.

“I did that kind of on purpose because I love to be surprised. It was, like, three, four months in the making, so I obviously knew it was going on, but I didn’t actually see the final cut,” she revealed.

Among the 11 celebrity impersonators that appear in the video – all naked and lying in a bed with Kanye and Kim – include George W. Bush, Anna Wintour, Donald Trump, Rihanna, Chris Brown, Taylor Swift, Ray J, Amber Rose, Caitlyn Jenner and Bill Cosby.

The video is now on Tidal, and nearly a week later it is still the subject of social media debates and opinion pieces around the world.

A day after it came out, Kanye addresses the furore by daring somebody to confront him over it. “Can somebody sue me already #I’ll wait,” he tweeted, quickly deleting it.

It has enraged Lena Dunham, one of Taylor Swift’s friends, particularly as TayTay herself spoke out to urge Kim and Kanye to leave her alone after she was explicitly named in the song months ago. The ‘Girls’ creator described ‘Famous’ as “one of the most disturbing artistic efforts in recent memory” in a lengthy Facebook post.
