JK Rowling Grieves For Harry Potter Theme Park Worker Who Died In Orlando Shooting

Jk Rowling has paid tribute to one of the many people who died during the shooting at Orlando nightclub Pulse; a young man who worked at Universal Studios' Harry Potter theme park less than 10 miles away. He was one of the 50 people gunned dead during Pride revelry.

Luis Vielma, who worked as a production assistant on the Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey ride at Universal Orlando, was just one of the 50 partygoers at Pulse Nightclub who were killed where they stood in the early hours of Sunday morning (June 12th 2016). More than 100 people were shot overall, with just over half left injured, and many more left mentally scarred and grief-stricken for the rest of their lives. 'Harry Potter' author Rowling got emotional about one special soul in particular.
'Luis Vielma worked on the Harry Potter ride at Universal. He was 22 years old. I can't stop crying', she wrote on Twitter. Her post was littered with responses from those who worked with Vielma and many of his friends, all of whom praising him as basically one of the nicest guys ever. 'Luis Vielma loved every bit of working at the Harry Potter ride. He brought smiles to every one he met', one guy replied.

Universal Orlando have also released a statement to express their regret for this horrific occurrence. 'We are deeply saddened over the loss of our team member. We are working to support his friends and colleagues here at Universal Orlando', they said. 'Our thoughts and prayers are with Luis, his family, and all the victims of this tragedy.'

The tragedy took place when Omar Mateen stormed the venue, apparently motivated by a hatred of gay culture. After opening fire on more than 100 innocent revellers, he was shot dead himself by police who rushed to the bloody scene.
