Kit Harington Missing Among 'Game Of Thrones' Season 6 Premiere Arrivals

  • 11 April 2016

The 'Game Of Thrones' season 6 premiere took place at the TCL Chinese Theatre in Hollywood last night (April 10th 2016) and, as expected, arrivals were bombarded with questions about whether or not Jon Snow was really dead. Kit Harington wasn't there to reitereate his own denial of Snow's continued existence, but he would have been proud of everyone for their insistence.

Meanwhile, Tyrion Lannister played by Peter Dinklage is still acting as ruler of Meereen in Daenerys' absence, now reunited with Varys. But it looks like this could be the last season we see him in given that promo shots have shown him among the dead with Jon Snow; Dinklage wastes no time in pointing that out - literally - at the premiere.

Maisie Williams who plays Arya Stark looked sensational upon her arrival, showing off her taut midriff in a two piece dress. Still blind after her toils in 'Mother's Mercy' and not coping well with it, Arya is making enemies nonetheless and we can expect to see a vulnerability we never thought we'd witness from her.

Lena Headey (Cersei Lannister) and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (Jaime Lannister) were also on the grey carpet. They play twins and lovers whose illicit relationship was thrust into uncertainty after Cersei underwent a humiliating punishment for adultery, incest and treason and Jaime seemed to renounce their love. However, in a recent trailer, they were seen plotting revenge together and Cersei is definitely up for a fight.

Noticeably absent was Kit Harington, who plays Jon Snow, which only adds to the mystery shrouding Snow's fate. Harington has been pointedly insisting that his character is very much definitely dead, and that the only part he plays in the new series is a corpse. He didn't appear at the LA premiere because he's currently in London for his West End play 'Doctor Faustus'. His co-stars were equally adamant about Snow's fate though, but, equally, no-one has said that he doesn't come back to life in so many words. But what about what Ian McShane recently let slip? That his one-time character brings back someone who everyone thought was dead? He could be talking about Tyrion, but we're not so sure.

Looking chic with her red hair braided in a halo on her head, Sophie Turner (Sansa Stark) insisted she's almost as much in the dark as the other fans out there. 'I didn't read anything other than my parts of the script this season but that wasn't because I was lazy - it was because I want to watch it as a fan', she told Sky News at the premiere. 'I have no idea what's about to happen in the season and that's good because it means I don't blab.' It's strange how so many people are begging to know exactly what's happening with Jon Snow, but lash out in anger when someone lets something slip.

We do, at least, know two people who are definitely set to return. Bran Stark (Isaac Hempstead Wright), Jon Snow's brother who we haven't seen since Season 4 finale 'The Children', returns with the powers of the One-Eyed Raven but he has more than grief to deal with when he bumps into the mythical White Walkers. Plus, Melisandre aka The Red Priestess (Carice van Houten), is back; seemingly remorseful for making Stannis burn his only daughter Shireen. The first episode is even entitled 'The Red Woman' - one of her many nicknames.
