Paul Hollywood Wants Kimberley Walsh To Sign Up For The Full Time Bake Off
For the thousands of Bake Off fans, spring’s Sport Relief Bake Off brings a little lightness to the dark, dark world of Wednesday nights without Paul and Mary and Sue and Mel. And last night’s episode shone as brightly as ever with pop star Kimberley Walsh pipping politician Ed Balls to the star baker post.
The pop star wowed Paul and Mary with her strawberry cheesecake-themed muffins, a solid second place football pie in the technical and lastly an impressive extreme sports-themed ‘showstopper’ yoghurt cake inspired by her Mount Kilimanjaro trek in 2009.

Mr Hollywood was so impressed her the former Girls Aloud star’s talent that he thinks she should apply for the full series.
He said: "There’s signs there of a great baker, I’d even say, go and get the application form filled in for this year’s Bake Off."
Of her showstopper, he said: "It’s well-thought out and actually well-baked."

Of course, the show had its token baking flop - this time filled by sports pundit Chris Kamara who, at one point, attempted to roll his pie pastry out with his fingers before discovering a rolling pin in his drawer.
And last but not least was ambitious savoury baker Victoria Coren who gave Mary her first ever taste of a Bloody Mary - in the shape of a muffin.
We’ll see you in the tent this summer Kimberley!
