Chinese actress Zhang Ziyi, famous for her roles in hit martial arts movies such as The Grandmaster and House of Flying Daggers, has given birth to her first child over the weekend.

The 36 year old star announced on Monday (December 28th) that she welcomed a baby girl the day before, her first with her rock star husband Wang Feng. She posted a sweet picture commemorating the birth via her profile on the Chinese social media site Weibo, of her and her husband holding their baby’s tiny fingers.

“You, me, her… with the birth of this little life, we have our own family. Everything went safely and smoothly. Infinite gratitude!” she captioned the picture in Mandarin.

Her husband — a judge on China's version of ‘The Voice’ — then posted on his Weibo and wrote, “The dust settles, spring begins and flowers bloom.” It’s Feng’s third child, having already had two daughters from previous marriages.

Although representatives for the couple confirmed the baby’s birth to the Associated Press later on Monday, nothing about the girl’s name or birthplace has been revealed, although subsequent reports say that it happened in the United States.

The couple got engaged back in February this year, after Feng delivered a diamond engagement ring to her 36th birthday party via a drone.

Ziyi found worldwide fame in 2000 when Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon won four Oscars, and was nominated for Best Picture. Her role also ended up scooping the Independent Spirit Award for Best Supporting Role.

2001's Rush Hour 2, 2002's Hero, 2004's House of Flying Daggers, 2005's Memoirs of a Geisha, 2009's Horsemen and 2013's The Grandmaster are among her other major acting credits.
