Flavor Flav Boasts About Bailing Bobby Shmurda

Shmurda, real name Ackquille Pollard, was re-arrested in June (15) after he was caught in possession of a "sharpened metal instrument" that his girlfriend reportedly tried to slip to him while he was in jail.

He is currently serving time in New York's notorious Rikers Island, and Public Enemy star Flav took to Shmurda's Instagram.com account on Thursday (23Jul15) with a video to the jailed rapper - and a promise.

He said, "Yo, Shmurda. Flavor Flav. We coming to get you out, baby. We in the bank right now, B, we got dough (money)," as he and an unnamed associate waved stacks of bills in front of the camera.

An accompanying caption read: "Can't get any better then the Legendary Hip Hop Hype man himself supporting your release."

Shmurda is facing separate charges of murder, gun possession, drug dealing and conspiracy after being arrested as part of a police sting in Manhattan in December (14).

He recently rejected a plea deal for a charge of second-degree possession of a weapon and five years of probation.

Ironically, Flav has also had his own legal troubles recently - earlier this week (beg20Jul15) he was charged with a DUI, speeding, and having an open container of alcohol following his arrest in Las Vegas in May (15).
