Suge Knight's Attorney Wants Bail Reduction After Unearthing New Video Evidence

The Death Row Records co-founder was slapped with counts of murder and attempted murder earlier this year (15) after running over and killing his friend Terry Carter and injuring actor Cle 'Bone' Sloan as he sped away from a California film set in January (15) following a dispute.

His attorney, Thomas Mesereau, failed to have the counts against Knight dismissed during a court hearing on Tuesday (07Jul15), but he has filed a motion to have the mogul's bail lowered amid claims he has obtained new evidence to prove a lack of intent.

Mesereau alleges the film, which has yet to be shown in court, shows Knight being attacked in his truck by a man holding a gun, while several others standing nearby were also armed, reports The Associated Press.

In his filing, he writes, "Mr. Sloan was armed, as were others. Weapons are visible on the video provided to the court.

"This video shows (Knight) being viciously attacked and fleeing for his life. Most significantly, the video discloses one of his attackers brandishing a weapon. When this armed attacker dropped his gun, the video depicts an associate retrieving the weapon and placing it in his waistband."

Sloan previously denied having a gun when he admitted in court in April (15) to repeatedly punching Knight through the window of his pick-up truck, moments before the hit-and-run incident.

Knight has pleaded not guilty to the charges.

A bail hearing has been set for 17 July (15), but it is unclear whether the footage will be aired.
