Jurassic World Stomps Past Inside Out To Maintain U.s. Box Office Title

The dinosaur action epic, starring Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard, secured the biggest global launch of all time last weekend (12-14Jun15) with almost $512 million (£320 million) and the second-biggest opening in North America with $208.8 million (£130.5 million), just behind 2012's The Avengers.
Now Jurassic World has stomped to the top for another record-setting week, taking $102 million (£63.8 million) to retain the box office title. The impressive take makes it only the second movie in industry history to cross the $100 million mark in its second week, again just shy of The Avengers, which raked in $103.1 million (£64.4 million) in week two.
Animated Pixar adventure Inside Out gave Jurassic World a good run for its money, opening in second place with a big $91.1 million (£56.9 million) haul.
Melissa MCCarthy's comedy Spy is a distant third with $10.5 million (£6.6 million), with San Andreas and new coming-of-age hip-hop drama Dope rounding out the top five.
