Grohl missed a ramp and fell from the stage in Gothenburg on Friday (12Jun15), but he returned to complete the gig, seated with his leg wrapped in bandages, after receiving medical treatment.

The injury prompted the Best of You hitmakers to cancel shows in The Netherlands and Switzerland, and now Grohl and his bandmates have pulled the plug on all their June dates after revealing the rocker underwent surgery on Monday (15Jun15).

A statement issued on Tuesday (16Jun15) reads: "Due to injuries sustained in Dave Grohl's fall from the stage during Foo Fighters' June 12 show at Ullevi Stadium in Gothenburg, Sweden, doctors have required the cancellation of the remainder of the band's dates in the UK and Europe. After undergoing surgery Monday, Dave's full recuperation time is still to be determined."

The scrapped gigs include two dates at London's Wembley Stadium on Friday (19Jun15) and Saturday (20Jun15), a show in Belgium on 25 June (15) and a headlining spot at Glastonbury on 26 June (15).

The announcement emerges hours after festival boss Emily Eavis admitted she was "not sure" if the Foo Fighters' set at the festival would go ahead as planned.

She told the BBC, "Poor Dave Grohl. It was an amazing moment when he carried on. I'm not sure what the outcome's going to be here yet."

Eavis did reveal that she and her fellow festival bosses have come up with an alternative line-up, should the Foo Fighters pull out. That had not been revealed as WENN went to press.
