Lionel Richie Is 'afraid' To Marry

Lionel Richie is ''afraid'' to get married again.

The 65-year-old singer - who has daughter Nicole, 33, with first wife Brenda Harvey, and kids Miles, 21 and Sofia, 16, with second spouse Diane Alexander - is very happy with model Lisa Parigi but is cautious of making their two-year union official.

Lionel - who is known as Pop-Pop to Nicole and Joel Madden's kids Harlow, seven, and five-year-old Sparrow - said: ''I'm a little afraid [to marry], if you want the truth.

''The words 'entertainer' and 'marriage' are a tough combination. Let me just be Pop-Pop for a while. Let's keep it simple and let's party.''

Despite his reluctance to marry, the 'All Night Long' hitmaker is ''in love'' with Lisa but doesn't want to ''jinx'' his romance.

He told HELLO! magazine: ''I'm in love. Lionel Richie not being in love is not truly Lionel Richie.

''I use it lightly when I say 'in love' because it's a very slippery slope and I don't want to jinx myself.

''There are days when you want to make an announcement and say, 'Oh my God, this is how I feel'.

''But then I realise I like it just the way it is. I'm with Lisa, who is wonderful.''
