U.S rapper The Game has turned himself into police in Los Angeles after hitting an off-duty officer during a basketball game earlier this year. The Game - real name Jayceon Terrell Taylor - surrendered to officers around noon on Monday.

The incident on March 29 saw Taylor punch an officer during a scrimmage at Hollywood High School, said Los Angeles Police spokesman Mike Lopez.

He was booked on suspicion of making criminal threats, a felony, and released about an hour later after posting $50,000 bail. Lopez said a video purporting to show The Game striking the officer had been uploaded to the internet though he did not verify its authenticity.
After posting bail on Monday, Taylor posted a photo to Instagram showing him squatting in front of the Hollywood station of the Los Angeles Police Department with the caption, "Waiting on my uber lol".

The Game has a long history of legal problems, dating back to 2005 when he, Snoop Dogg, and Tha Dogg Pound were sued for assaulting a fan on stage at a May concert in Washington. Later that year, Taylor was charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest in Greensboro, North Carolina - security officers said he was wearing a full-face Halloween mask, filming shoppers and cursing loudly.
In May 2007, The Game was arrested at his home in connection with allegedly threatening a person with a gun at a basketball game in South Los Angeles.
In July 2012, 40 Glocc got into an altercation with The Game. An iPhone video appeared to show the former running into a bush after being beaten up by Taylor. 40 Glocc subsequently filed a lawsuit for $4.54 mllion.
