Ryan Reynolds Shares First Picture Of Daughter James

Ryan Reynolds has shared the first photograph of his daughter James. There's not much to see as the photograph is of baby James' tiny hand wrapped around Reynolds' thumb. Reynolds, in his typical fashion, jokingly captioned the photograph: 'Thumb wrestling isn't always fair. Curiously, my hand is the small one.'

38-year-old Reynolds and his wife, former Gossip Girl actress Blake Lively, welcomed their first child together in December of last year. They initially kept quiet about their daughter's name but Reynolds confirmed they had indeed chosen an unusual name: James. Reynolds explained his decision to delay in confirming James' name to media, claiming he was being cautious and pre-empting James' comments when she grows older.

"I didn't want to be the first guy screaming it out to the media," he said. "Because as we know, little girls turn into teenage girls and little teenage girls sometimes scan through the archives and go, 'Why did you do that?'"

Lively also regrammed the picture, adding the caption: 'And with that my husband joins Insta.'

In a recent interview, 27-year-old Lively claimed James looked more like Reynolds. Lively appeared on Live! With Kelly and Michael last month, as People reports, and said that James "looks like her daddy," even joking that she "wants a maternity test."

Reynolds has also been using Instagram to share latest images of his upcoming film, Deadpool. Reynolds stars as the eponymous Marvel anti-hero in the film, due to be released in 2016. Most recently, Lively starred in the fantasy-romance, Age of Adaline.
