Furious 7 Speeds To The Top Of U.k. Box Office

Fans of the car racing franchise saw the last performance of late actor Paul Walker, who died in a road accident in 2013, in Furious 7 alongside Vin Diesel and Dwayne Johnson, and it booted Disney's live-action version of Cinderella from the number one spot.

Lily James' fairytale took a magical $4.6 million (£3 million) in its second weekend on release while animated movie Home landed in the third spot with $3.8 million (£2.4 million).

Fourth place went to another kid's favourite, The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out Of Water 3D, which brought in earnings of $1.8 million (£1.1 million) while Will Ferrell's controversial comedy Get Hard rounded out the top five with $1.4 million (£845,000).
