The veteran singer will share Sweden's prestigious music honour with Scottish percussionist Dame Evelyn Glennie, who has been deaf since the age of 12.

Harris tells Billboard.com, "Every day brings a new adventure... I have to admit, I thought, 'Oh boy, a trip to Sweden!' I love to travel. I just hate packing and flights."

Harris and Glennie will be presented with the coveted award by King Carl XVI Gustaf in Stockholm, Sweden on 9 June (15).

The Polar Music Prize, which was founded by ABBA's former manager Stig Anderson in 1989, is shared annually by a pop artist and a classical musician. Past recipients include Chuck Berry, Paul Simon and Bjork.
