Calista Flockhart Heading Back To Tv

Former Ally Mcbeal star Calista Flockhart is heading back to the small screen in the upcoming Tv series Supergirl.

The actress has been tapped to play the title character's boss.

Flockhart joins the previously announced cast, which includes Glee's Melissa Benoist as Supergirl, True Blood alum Mehcad Brooks, who takes on the role of photojournalist Jimmy Olsen, and Nashville regular Laura Benanti.

The series will mark a broadcast Tv return for Golden Globe-winning Flockhart - she most recently appeared in episodes of Lisa Kudrow's comedy Web Therapy and drama Full Circle.

She was a series regular on family drama Brothers & Sisters for five seasons following her breakout role on Ally MCBeal.
