Oscar nominee Patricia Arquette passed on a manicure hours before the Academy Awards because she was too busy launching a charity initiative.

The Boyhood star spent Oscars morning setting up a new Chideo.com (charity website) challenge for fans keen on spending time with the actress and making the world a better place.

She explains, "You can enter a sweep stakes and go with me on a global mission with one of our projects, GiveLove.org, where we do ecological sanitation work in the neediest communities around the world."
