Richard Dreyfuss To Play Ponzi Scheme Mastermind Bernie Madoff

Jaws star Richard Dreyfuss has been cast as convicted Ponzi scheme conman Bernie Madoff in a new Tv drama.

The series will be based on Brian Ross' book The Madoff Chronicles: Inside the Secret World of Bernie and Ruth.

Madoff was a former stockbroker and financier who was convicted of fraud in what is considered the largest financial fraud in U.S. history.

Sources tell The Hollywood Reporter a number of top actresses are in the running to play Madoff's wife Ruth.
