'The Big Bang Theory' And Robert Downey Jr. Sweep Up At People's Choice Awards [Photos]
It's that time of the year when the annual The People's Choice Awards role in, honouring the very best of popular culture in 2014. The 41st iteration of the ceremony saw a number of celebrities making an appearance to give, receive and pose with awards for categories ranging from 'Favourite Movie Actor' to 'Favourite TV Character We Miss Most'. So, yes, the net was cast pretty wide.

That's not to say that certain celebrities weren't favoured over others. Robert Downey Jr. took home the awards for both 'Favourite Movie Actor' and 'Favourite Dramatic Movie Actor', and Jennifer Lawrence was awarded both 'Favourite Movie Actress' and 'Favourite Action Movie Actress'. The most nominations went to Shailene Woodley ('Divergent', 'The Fault in Our Stars') who was received four nominations for three categories - she only ended up taking home 'Favourite Movie Duo' after receiving two nominations in that category.

Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting took home the award for 'Favourite Comedic TV Actress' for 'The Big Bang Theory' - a show which, itself, won both 'Favourite TV Show' and 'Favourite Network TV Comedy'. Ellen Degeneres won the award for 'Favourite Daytime TV Host(s)' (of course), with 'Favourite Late Night Talk Show Host' going to Jimmy Fallon. Matt Bomer won the award for 'Favourite Cable TV Actor'.

'Favourite Comedic Movie Actor' went to Adam Sandler, while Chris Evans beat Hugh Jackman, Liam Neeson, Mark Wahlberg and Denzel Washington to the award for 'Favourite Action Movie Actor'. Ben Affleck was nominated for 'Favourite Dramatic Movie Actor', yet instead walked away with a special 'Favourite Humanitarian' award, given to him by Amy Adams.
In the music world, Ed Sheeran and Taylor Swift took home the 'Favourite Artist' awards, with Sheeran also winning 'Favourite Album', and Swift winning 'Favourite Pop Artist' and 'Favourite Song' (guess which one it was.) The ceremony is set to return next year, and bring with it a return of the 'Favourite Alternative Band' and 'Favourite Rock Band' categories.
