Keke Palmer Weeps In Cinderella On Broadway's Last Curtain Call [Photos]
It was a sad day for fans of Broadway's most extraordinary rendition of Rodgers + Hammerstein's 'Cinderella', as the show finally bowed out in its final curtain call on Sunday. Actors looked tearful as they neared the end the previous night (January 3rd 2015).
The Tony award winning musical saw 'Joyful Noise' actress Keke Palmer in the role of Ella; a stunning choice, and she became the first ever black actress to land the role when she signed on for it in 2014. The show marks her debut in theatre and she certainly looked the part as she showed off her huge white princess dress on stage, her eyes brimming with tears as Cinderella finally lands the future of her dreams.

Playing the part of Prince Charming (or Prince Topher as he is so named in the production) is Joe Carroll, who made his Broadway in 'Once' and later acted as Orlando Bloom's understudy during his 'Romeo and Juliet' run; incidentally, another show that embraced black actors in traditionally 'white' roles as Condola Rashad took on the part of Juliet.
Sherri Shepherd even appeared for the final curtain call, despite finishing her stint as the evil stepmother Madame back in November 2014. She was replaced by Nene Leakes from 'The Real Housewives of Atlanta', but apparently was still considered an important part of the overall cast and celebrated the show's conclusion with the current line-up on stage on Saturday.
