Carlton Tangos To Victory! As Alfonso Ribeiro Wins 'Dancing With The Stars'

Alfonso Ribeiro has been crowned this season’s very deserving winner of ‘Dancing With the Stars’, taking home the mirrorball trophy along with pro partner Witney Carson. The former ‘Fresh Prince of Bel-Air’ star had been the favourite to win the competition, thanks to his high scoring performances throughout the series.

An emotional Ribeiro told the audience on Tuesday night (November 25th), “I cannot believe this. I've wanted it forever. My god, I don't even know what to say.” While his pro partner Whitney Carson added, “He's one of the most hard working people I've ever met,” before telling the 43 year old, “'you deserve it.”

During his time on the competition Ribeiro had battled both a back and a groin injury which threatened his place in the final, however come Tuesday night he was back fighting fit for the grand finale. For their first dance of the final night Ribeiro and Carson performed a freestyle routine, revisiting Ribeiro’s famous ‘Carlton Dance’ to the delight of viewers.

They were then the last to compete in the fusion challenge, mixing a cha cha with an Argentine tango. The pair received full marks from the judges on the final night, finishing with a perfect 120 score.

Coming in second place was 'Duck Dynasty' star Sadie Robertson and her partner Mark Ballas. After the results were announced, the 17 year old said, “this has been an amazing experience and I just want to say I'm so thankful to God who has brought me this far in the completion.” Finishing in third place was 'Pretty Little Liars' actress Janel Parrish.

During the two hour season finale there were also musical performances from Nick Jonas, who performed his single 'Jealous', Jennifer Hudson who sang 'Go All Night' with Gorgon City and Meghan Trainor who performed a medley of her hits 'All About That Bass' and 'Lips are Movin''.
