Despite A Great Round For "Nightcrawler", The Halloween Office Is Scary...ly Bad

With Halloween weekend almost over, Ouija has been dethroned. The new box office champion is Jake Gyllenhaal’s Nightcrawler, which is already being lauded as one of the best films of the year. So, after all the critics have heaped their praise and the movie-going crowd has cast the vote, let’s talk numbers.


Nightcrawler is already being described as one of the best movies of the year by several critics.

With Halloween on a Friday this year, the earnings overall were nothing to write home about. Nightcrawler came first, but only managed a measly $10,909 in ticket sales. Meanwhile, Ouija did pretty well too, dropping just $8,760 in its second weekend, according to Rentrak (via Reuters. ) This made for a 10,9 weekend and a close call for Nightcrawler.

The top 5 was rounded out by David Fincher’s critically praised Gone Girl with $8,8 million and The Book of Life with $8,3 million. Scary figures, indeed.
