British Foo Fighters Fans Raise $110,000 For Gig On Kickstarter
British Foo Fighters fans have raised $110,000 (£70,000) on a crowd-funding page in an effort to persuade the band to perform in the U.K.
The devotees want Dave Grohl and his band to play an entirely fan-funded, one-off gig next year (15) in conjunction with the release of their latest album Sonic Highways.
Donations must reach a minimum of $240,000 (£150,000) to make the concert possible.
News of the new campaign comes a week after the band played its first crowd-funded event in Virginia on 21 September (14).
More than 600 people have already backed the British campaign, raising almost half the money needed to fund the gig.
To secure a ticket, patrons must pledge at least $80 (£50) but the page is accepting smaller donations from supporters of the project.
