Think 'Sex Tape' Is Embarrassing? Jason Segel Has Done Way Worse
Ok, so as we said yesterday, Sex Tape really isn't that bad. It's not the best comedy of the year - not by far - and it has a shaky premise (who in their right mind buys iPads for the entire family and connects them all to a personal iCloud account?), but it has likeable stars in Cameron Diaz and Jason Segel and isn't as dumb as its trailers make out.

Another criticism of the movie has been its tameness - this is barely blushing stuff, not the full-blown embarrassment we were promised. Besides, Segel has a far more embarrassing story than accidentally sending your own sex tape to friends and family.
"I fainted during my first school play," the actor told George Lamb during a Sky Movies interview, "Fainted on stage. I was in the middle of it. We were singing as a group in a musical and I must have been 10-years-old.
"You know when things start to get a little [weird]? The next thing I know I was getting slapped awake."
"I tried to go out of my range. They warned me to - because I was like a wild kid. I was always try to sing out of my range. Take it easy man, somebody that's gonna come and bite you.

The movie has already doubled its $40 million budget at the box-office, though it opens in the UK this weekend.
"At heart, it's about as naughty as an old Disney movie with Dean Jones, Suzanne Pleshette, and an unruly Great Dane. I liked its gung-ho slapstick spirit, though. No one's slacking off," said David Edelstein of New York magazine.
Our own Rich Cline was not so kind, writing, "Although it presents itself as a rude sex comedy, this movie is actually a prudish exercise in simplistic moralising. A glut of sweary dialog and leery innuendo is certainly no replacement for properly adult-oriented humour."
