Jon Favreau’s live action remake of Disney’s The Jungle Book might just have one of the most impressive cast lists we’ve ever seen! Filled with award winning talent such as diverse as veteran, Christopher Walken and rising star Lupita Nyong’o, as the film begins to take shape we just can’t help getting more and more excited. Here’s the list of famous names who have joined the cast so far, each of who will be giving a new voice to Kipling’s much loved characters.

Lupita Nyong’o

Undoubtedly the hottest name in Hollywood at the moment, Lupita Nyong’o has been the actress to know ever since her Oscar wining performance in 12 Years A Slave. Nyong’o has signed on to voice Raksha, the mother wolf who raises Mowgli. The role is the second high profile part landed by the young actress since her Oscar win, she’ll also be appearing in the upcoming Star Wars: Episode VII, directed by JJ Abrams.

Idris Elba

The villainous tiger Shere Khan will be voiced by 'The Wire’s' Idris Elba. Elba is also known for starring in BBC crime drama ‘Luther’ for which he won the Golden Globe for Best Performance in a Miniseries or Television Film.

Fresh off her performance as Samantha, the voice which captivated Joaquin Phoenix in Her, Scarlett Johansson will be heard in The Jungle Book as Kaa, the long, yellow python.
