Katelyn Tarver Ties The Knot With Fiance David Blaise

  • 28 July 2014

Adam Levine may have gotten all the press last weekend for his wedding with model Behati Prinsloo, but he wasn't the only celebrity that tied the knot. On July 19, former 'Big Time Rush' star Katelyn Tarver got married to her fiance David Blaise in front of a crowd filled with family, friends, and some stars, too.

Amongst those present included her 'Big Time Rush' co-stars, as well as 'Pretty Little Liars' lead Lucy Hale and actress Alexa Vega. Plenty of pictures from the day were posted by Hale and friends (and can be seen on Instagram), and it seemed like everyone had an amazing time, and looked amazing to boot. For those unfamiliar with Tarver and her work, you might be wondering who she is and why she's super close friends with Lucy. Well, back in the day (like when they were eleven), the two were contestants on 'American Idol's spin-off, 'American Juniors.' Both just trying to break into the industry at that point, the two became close and never lost touch with each other after the show's conclusion. Sadly, only Hale made it into the winning group - Tarver was eliminated in the final round. I wonder if she still brings that up to rub it in her face? The show was kind of awful ... so ... probably not.

Thankfully, even though Hale is a mega star on 'Pretty Little Liars,' Tarver didn't do too badly for herself either. In 2005, she released her debut album, Wonderful Crazy, until putting music on the side to focus on her acting career. She played Jo Taylor for three years in her aforementioned role on Nickelodeon's 'Big Time Rush,' as well as had a couple reoccurring roles in the ABC comedy drama, 'No Ordinary Family,' and the ABC Family teen drama, 'The Secret Life of the American Teenager.' Eventually, however, music found its way back into Tarver's sights, and she released her most recent EP, A Little More Free, independently in 2011. The little collection of songs was acoustic pop brilliance, and a huge step up in maturity from her first record. In 2012, Tarver embarked on a nationwide tour supporting the bands Parachute and The Cab, and one of her bandmates was none other than her husband, but boyfriend at the time, David Blaise. Most recently, Tarver lended a songwriting hand to singer Cheryl Cole's new single, 'Crazy Stupid Love.' The track hit number one on the UK Singles Chart, marking the first hit of hopefully many in Tarver's career.

Blaise may not be a household name, but he is no amateur to the music industry either. Starting in 2006, he played bass for alternative rock band This Providence, who was signed to fun. and Paramore's record label, Fueled By Ramen, before disbanding following their 2012 release, Brier. Over the years, the band gained a fairly respectable following and also embarked on countless tours, featuring stints on the Vans Warped Tour and performances at the Bamboozle festival. However, for some reason, they never got over the hump that would push them into the mainstream, despite having the songs to do so. When they disbanded, it was a loss for the genre for sure - This Providence was one of the most consistent bands around, but it was nice that Blaise got to see the stage again backing up his lady on tour.

In the future, who knows what will be in store for Tarver when it comes to her acting, but we can only hope that the future definitely involves some new music featuring Blaise right by her side on stage and in the studio, too - and maybe they can even score some much deserved chart success together as well. In the meantime, the most important thing fans can do for now is to just be unbelievably excited for the newlyweds, and we wish them a lifetime of happiness.
