Comic-Con 2014 For TV Nerds: Five Unmissable Panels

  • 23 July 2014

It’s that time again! Time for Comic-Con to make life a little bit weirder – and better – for four full days between July 24 and 27. It’s arguably the biggest entertainment convention in the world at this point, so attendees will practically be bombarded with panels, signings, exclusive content and, of course, merchandise for the full duration of the con. Some of it might even trickle down to those, who couldn’t make it, for whatever reason. With so much to do and see, we’ve rounded up the five absolutely unmissable events for any self-respecting TV nerd, starting with:

  1. Constantine – A preview screening of the full first episode, NBC’s _Constantine_ event will also feature a panel discussion with stars Matt Ryan, Harold Perrineau and Charles Halford, along with executive producers David Goyer and Daniel Cerone. Do not miss. Saturday, 5.15pm – 6.15pm. Room 6BCF.

  1. On that same note, Warner Bros. and DC’s full Hall H panel, featuring _Constantine__, Arrow, Gotham _and The Flash, also looks great, if you can snag a seat. Saturday, 8pm – 11pm.

  1. Ok, we’re biased here. But if Marvel are doing an Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. panel and previewing Agent Carter, you best believe that is the place to be. Friday, 3pm-4pm, Ballroom 20.

2. Game of Thrones. It’s in Hall H and it’s hell to get into, but once you’re in, it’s worth it. Several members of the GoT cast will be there, including Maisie Williams, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Kit Harington, Gwendoline Christie, Natalie Dormer, Sophie Turner, Rory McCann, Rose Leslie and Pedro Pascal and that lineup tends to deliver a lot of laughs.

The Game Of Thrones team will be on hand to answer questions at Comic-Con

Showrunners David Benioff and D. B. Weiss might also make an appearance, along with The Man himself, George R. R. Martin. As for exclusive content, a series 5 trailer is unlikely, but there might be several casting announcements, as well as the always hilarious recap video. Heads up: if you’ve waited in the excruciating line and snagged a seat for this one, you better have read the books.

Who wouldn't want to sit in on a tribute to 'Community'?

1. Greendale Forever: TV Guide Magazine’s Tribute to Community. With our favorite surrealist sitcom gone, but not forgotten, this may be one of the last times we get to see it at Comic-Con. This panel will feature creator/nerd king Dan Harmon, executive producer Chris McKenna, and cast members Joel McHale, Gillian Jacobs, Jim Rash and Dino Stamatopoulos, recapping the show and discussing its future. – Thursday, 2:15pm, Ballroom 20._
