Karl Lagerfeld To Be Made Into A Barbie Doll
Karl Lagerfeld has been made into a Barbie doll.
The legendary fashion designer - who stands as creative director of Chanel and the Italian fashion house Fendi - has had the limited edition toy crafted in his image to celebrate Barbie's 55th birthday this year.
The doll will be launched in autumn by American toy giant Mattel - as part of their collector series - and will be dressed in the 80-year-old's signature tailored black jacket, white high-collar shirt, black jeans, necktie, black ankle boots and fingerless gloves, reports WWD.
Global vice president of Barbie product design, Kim Culmone, said: ''It's not everyday that Barbie dresses like the world's most famous fashion designer.''
Details surrounding the price and distribution of the iconic figurine will be released at a later date, although Mattel previously created a Barbie in honour of Hervé Léger by Max Azria which retailed at $150.
Meanwhile, Karl's pet cat, Choupette, was recently announced as the face of a Shu Uemura cosmetics campaign.
The snow-white Siamese kitty will front a holiday makeup collection for the Japanese brand - entitled 'Shupette by Karl Lagerfeld' - which will also be released in autumn this year.
