Early In The Weekend, "22 Jump Street" Moves Ahead Of "How To Train Your Dragon 2"
The weekend’s box office scores are already taking shape. The race was bound to be neck and neck, but by the end of Friday, the Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill comedy 22 Jump Street emerged with a slight lead. The sequel banked $25 million on Friday and is on track for a $60 million weekend total, making it the second highest grossing R-rated comedy in history. This time around, Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill play their familiar goofy cop buddies, who get sent to college for an undercover drugs bust.

The opening puts Dragon 2 on track to go well over the debut of the original, which made $43,7 million in its opening weekend back in 2010. It may not be enough to top 22 Jump Street's success, given the first franchise's loyal fanbase and generally positive reviews.
