As for TFIOS, in it Woodley plays a teenager, living with cancer, who falls in love with a fellow survivor, goes on an adventure and discovers what it means to truly be alive. She stars opposite Ansel Elgort, with whom the young actress also shared some screentime in Divergent. In the Veronica Roth adaptation, Woodley and Elgort’s characters are brother and sister, but he plays the love interest in TFIOS. In reality, the two are just good friends, although Woodley has had to defend the platonic relationship in numerous interviews.
