T.I. Vs. Mayweather, And 5 Other Rappers Who Clashed With Athletes
T.I. and Floyd Mayweather had a pretty big bust-up at the weekend: a fight broke out after the boxer allegedly made some untoward comments about improper friendship between the boxer and the rapper's wife, Tameka "Tiny" Cottle. Punches and chairs were reportedly thrown in the fight between the two celebs who were filmed brawling in a Vegas Fatburger.
In honour of the sheer scandal the incident has generated, we've rounded up a list of five other examples where rappers have battled with sports stars, indicating an almost cat-and-dog-like relationship between the two professionals.
1) 50 Cent Vs. floyd mayweather
So...it's not the first time Mayweather has had a little beef with a famed rap-smith. The pair haven't reconciled since a fight that started years ago when they fell out. In late 2012, 50 claimed that the quarrel started when Floyd "Money" Mayweather in running his Mayweather Promotions company before turning himself in to serve a three-month jail sentence that ended in August.

However, when he came out of jail, 50 was shocked to see the friend that he'd helped splashing out on gold chains and Lamborghini cars. The rapper confronted the boxer and a rapid and angry Twitter back-and-forth began. The situation culminated in blows at least twice, according to MTV but the 'In Da Club' MC - much like T.I. wasn't about to let the media jump on the fact he'd been walloped by the boxer. "I won, every time," he claimed. "It was more out of reflex though. He punched me."

2) Lil Wayne Vs. Chris Bosh
Lil Wayne and the NBA star Chris Bosh had a big falling out last year when the rapper claimed he had slept with the Miami Heat star's wife and now baby-mamma, Adrienne. Weezy had boasted about having sex with Adrienne in a YouTube video, saying "You let them n*ggas know I'm from the streets so I ain't going on no Twitter beef -- take it to the f*cking streets n*gga. F*ck all these n*ggas. F*ck LeBron, f*ckD-Wade, f*ck all them n*ggas man. And, and, and I f*cked Chris Bosh's wife."
It didn't exactly come to fisticuffs between the pair but there's a little frost in the air nonetheless: Wayne has never apologised for his claims and Bosh has refused to acknowledge what Wayne said about him during the concert in which he called out the entire Miami Heat team after his alleged banning last summer. "[Sleeping with Chris Bosh's wife?] I said that? [laughs] I was too turnt up that night. I was a little too turnt up," said Wayne on Jimmy Kimmel, laughing off his comments.

3) Jay Z Vs. DeShawn Stevenson
This beef was actually pretty short-lived and started off with Jay Z's good friend LeBron James and Stevenson clashing during the 2008 NBA Playoffs. Stevenson allegedly called LeBron "overrated" and LeBron retaliated by saying that "responding to [Stevenson] would be like Jay Z firing back at Soulja Boy."
Stevenson responded to Soulja's comments by giving him courtside seats to a game which is when Jay Z offered his two cents on the matter by releasing a freestyle Stevenson-bashing verse over Too $hort's 'Blow the Whistle.' The fight had a pretty short half-life though and died off a few days later when LeBron's Cavaliers knocked off Stevenson's Wizards.

4) LL Cool J Vs. Mike Tyson
Former friends LL Cool J and boxer Mike Tyson used to be close but all that changed when Iron Mike agreed to record some "Yo Canibus..." lyrics for rapper Canibus' 1998 diss song, Second Round K.O.' Thing allegedly bubbled over when Canibus got the tattoo that LL had always wanted: a picture of a microphone on his arm, according to All Hip Hop.
LL Cool J made sure to respond in 'The Ripper Strikes Back' rapping "Heard that convicted rapist on the record too, fresh out of jail, ass cheeks still black and blue." Ouch. Thankfully, things never actually came to blows but there was some sure hostility from both sides. The fight was soon forgotten after LL rose to stardom and Canibus' debut flopped.

5) Kanye West Vs. Kris Humphries
We couldn't write a run-down of the most notorious rapper vs. sportsman clashes without mentioning Kanye West and Kris Humphries historic animosity. Before Kimye was even a thing, the rapper admitted in a 2012 rap that he was in love with Kris' then-wife Kim Kardashian. "And I'll admit, I fell in love with Kim/'Round the same time she had fell in love with him/Well, that's cool, baby girl, do ya thing/Lucky I ain't have Jay drop him from the team," he rapped on 'Cold.'

The basketball star was sharp-tongued in his response, tweeting "I'm up at Brooklyn! @S_C_ 'lucky I didn't have Jay drop me from the team.' lol!" after resigning from the Nets not long after. The pair never actually had it out with each other but if we're talking about Kim, of course, Kanye won.
