The Rolling Stones Resume Tour With Sold-Out Show Two Months After L'Wren Scott's Suicide
The Rolling Stones recommenced their '14 on Fire' concert tour, which is a tribute to their 50th anniversary of dominating rock & roll music around the world, with a sold-out show in Oslo, Norway, on Monday night (May 26th).
The iconic Rock band were forced to abandoned their tour two months earlier after frontman Mick Jagger's longtime love, L'Wren Scott, committed suicide.
The Stones spent a full week practising in Oslo's film studio complex Filmparken, and took part in a dress rehearsal on Saturday night (May 24th) at Telenor Arena.
Playing in front of a 23,000 strong rowdy crowd, Jagger expressed his excitement to be back on stage but didn't once make any reference to his late girlfriend.
"We first played Oslo in June 1965," he told the audience. "We played nine songs - we've played more than that already!"
The two-hour set featured their fan favorite hits such as 'Satisfaction,' 'Brown Sugar,' 'All Down the Line,' 'Emotional Rescue,' 'Jumpin' Jack Flash,' 'Let's Spend the Night Together,' and 'You Can't Always Get What You Want.'
"Condensation literally ran down the walls," said Swedish newspaper Goteborgs-Posten in its review, written by Johan Lindqvist. "Despite all the years, the size of the arena and the giant video screens, the Rolling Stones are still that little blues-rock band from the clubs in London."

In March, the band postponed their tour of Australia and New Zealand to give Jagger time to grieve for Scott.
The body of the fashion designer was discovered in her Manhattan apartment after an apparent suicide over two months ago. The 49 year-old's assistant found her hanging from a scarf on a doorknob at 200 11th Avenue around 10am, on the morning of March 17th.
All members of The Stones attended a memorial service for Scott earlier this Month, and Jagger sang Bob Dylan's 'Just Like a Woman' as a musical tribute to his late girlfriend.
