Sorry Thai Fans, No Taylor Swift Show For You
Taylor Swift was forced to cancel a date of her global RED tour this week, after the recent coup in Thailand. The country is now under military rule, with a loosely enforced curfew, complicating matters for Swift and her team.
According to the Associated Press, concert promoter BEC-Tero announced Tuesday on its website that the concert was canceled "due to recent events in Thailand." It didn't elaborate but called the move "a difficult decision for all parties."

Typical for Swifty, she also reached out to her fans directly – more or less – in a tweet. "I'm sending my love to the fans in Thailand," Swift tweeted." I'm so sad about the concert being canceled."

The concert was supposed to take place on June 9 in Bangkok, but has been cancelled with no replacement date announced. Tickets will be refunded. The rest of the Red tour will go on as planned through Asia, making stops in Shanghai, Tokyo, Jakarta, Manila, Kuala Lumpur and Singapore. Several other international performers have canceled or postponed appearances in Thailand in light of the recent months of political protests and the coup carried out last Thursday.
